After excusing herself for feeling ill, Janeva set to continue her testimony in Parliament

At the Macedonian Parliament Committee on Political System and Inter-Community Relations, Special Public Prosecutor Katica Janeva is expected to continue testifying about the work of her SPO office in the past six months. The hearing was interrupted on Thursday when Janeva complained she’s feeling ill and left the Parliament.

Her office later informed that she has received medical attention and is under medical supervision and control.

The Committee is supposed to examine both the reports of the SPO, which was formed in 2015 in order to examine the wiretapping affair, and of the regular Public Prosecutor’s Office. But, all questions were sent to Janeva, who previously refused to speak to the Parliament, and in her appearance on Wednesday said that she considers the institution illegitimate. This caused uproar among the VMRO-DPMNE members of Parliament, who questioned her capacity to perform the job, and who blame Janeva of acting in coordination with the opposition SDSM party. Janeva asked the Parliament to extend the duration of her mandate, a request which VMRO-DPMNE said will not be met, instead offering her to hire additional assistants
