British PM Theresa May pays official visit to Macedonia

Delegation of the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, led by Prime Minister Theresa May, pays an official visit to the Republic of Macedonia.

The welcoming ceremony of the British delegation will take place on the plateau in front of Macedonia’s Government building, after which a tête-à-tête meeting between prime ministers Zoran Zaev and Theresa May is planned.

According to May’s agenda, a bilateral meeting between the Macedonian and British delegation is envisaged.

Parliament Speaker, Talat Xhaferi will host a reception in honor of the British Prime Minister May who will deliver an address. Politicians, officials, military personnel and future leaders will attend the reception.

Prime Minister May will also use her visit on International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia to meet LGBT activists about their experiences in the country.

The British PM is attending the EU-Western Balkans summit in Sofia before going to Macedonia. She’s the first U.K. leader to go to Macedonia since Tony Blair visited the Skopje refugee camps during the Kosovo crisis in 1999.
