Bulgaria, Macedonia to cooperate in project on integrated energy market

Macedonia and Bulgaria will cooperate in a pilot-project for integration of energy markets between an EU member and candidate-state, in compliance with the agreement on establishing the Energy Community.

The Bulgarian Ministry of Energy and the Macedonian Ministry of Economy have signed a project-memorandum on unifying the energy markets, which the Bulgarian government has already approved.

The memo aims at creating a balanced legal and regulatory basis in uniting the “day-ahead” markets between the two countries on fair grounds, the Bulgarian government said in a press release.

The document signing is part of the joint efforts for networking in the energy sector, creating jobs and developing a competitive and integrated energy market in the region, completely in sync with Bulgaria’s continual  policy of guaranteeing sustainable and sufficient energy deliveries in Southeast Europe.
