The Central Asia Metals PLC, UK company, based in London has become the owner of Sasa zinc-lead mine in Macedonia, at today’s completion of the 100% of acquisition of Lynx Resources Limited, which was previous owner of Sasa.

Central Asia Metals, a Kazakhstan focused copper producer, has bought the Sasa mine for $402.5m.

Earlier, Central Asia Metals PLC received approval from the Macedonian Competition Commission for the acquisition of Lynx Resources Limited. Acquisition was carried out according to the rules of the London Stock Exchange.

We are pleased the acquisition process has ended successfully and that opens the way for the successful future of the Sasa mine. We believe that by this we will give additional impetus to the overall development of the local community, but also to the Macedonian economy, Nick Clarke, Executive Chairman of Central Asia Metals, said.

Central Asia Metals PLC is a copper production and base metals mineral exploration company, with operations in Kazakhstan.
