Demonstrators urge Ivanov “to stop prosecution against ex-Prime Minister Gruevski”

Trajko Veljanovski, Zoran Ilievski, Krsto Jovanovski, Johan Tarculovski and Nevena Stamenkovska were the MPs who attended the protest in front of the Basic Court Skopje 1 in order to express their support for the ex-Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.

They urged the President of the State, Gjorge Ivanov to end, as they say, the prosecution on the ex-Prime Minister.

“On our own initiative as members of VMRO-DPMNE, and admirers of Nikola Gruevski in front of the court building, we came to send several messages. This is a political persecution. It is ridiculous that the main evidence is still in the government and is used daily. The SPO has one goal, which is destroying the political elite of VMRO-DPMNE. The PO is unconstitutional, and all evidence is obtained illegally and cannot be used in court proceedings. We encourage judges to work according to the laws. We call on President Ivanov, the only politician with credibility, to decide to stop this persecution. We give clear and unequivocal support for Ivanov. We also support Nikola Gruevski because we are grateful for his efforts. He fought for justice, we support the fight,” says Aleksandar Trajkovski, a member of VMRO-DPMNE who presented the demands of the protesters.

Gruevski is sentenced to two years in prison for illegally procuring a Mercedes in the value of 600,000 euros. This is SPO’S case codenamed “Tank”.
