“Enekod”, new owner of “Feni Industries”


Ferronickel plant “Feni Industries” has a new owner, Bulgarian company “Enekod”, Pece Ristevski, president of the Trade Union for Industry, Mining and Energy, said on Friday.

Ristevski said the company will keep all employees and has committed to new investments.

“The problem has been solved to the benefit of all parties involved in the negotiations. As of today, the Kavadarci-based company has a new owner, ‘Enekod’, which has 35 businesses across Bulgaria. Enekod undertakes the liabilities to creditors, all workers will keep their jobs, whereas the owner has made a commitment to new investments”, added Ristevski.

According to him, Vice Premier for Economic Affairs Koco Angjusev played a key role in the talks, while the trade union was involved throughout the negotiations.

Plant operations will continue shortly, following the procurement of the required coal quantities.

“Feni Industries” has about 1,000 employees.
