First financial aid fund opened to help women, victims of domestic violence


The national network to end violence against women and domestic violence has opened the first-ever financial aid fund to help victims of violence leave an abusive relationship.

The opening and promotion of the Intervention Women’s Fund is part of the global campaign of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

The fund is designed to help women who are victims of violence and who want to leave the environment in which they have become victims. The aid will provide medical documentation, reports by medical specialists, make sure that lawyers are hired before securing free legal aid as well as other urgent measures to support women in getting out from a violent relationship.

“In addition to local self-government units and private companies, the national network to end violence against women and domestic violence call on all individuals who want to help women- victims of domestic violence to donate money by calling 143-477 (OneVIP), 070/143-300 (T-Mobile) or by donating via a giro account of the bank Stopanska Banka – 200003247799194,” it has said.
