Goran Stefanovski’s Figurae veneris historiae performed in Montenegro

Prilep’s Vojdan Chernodrinski Theater troupe performed Goran Stefanovski’s play Figurae veneris historiae at the International Festival of Acting in Niksić, Montenegro, on Thursday evening.

Stefanovski’s 2014 play, which the festival’s program describes as an unconventional story about the atrocities of war and about love as the only salvation from it, was directed by Nataša Poplavska.

The cast included Dimitar Gjorgievski, Daniela Ivanoska, Igor Trpčeski, Jasmina Micovska Stankoska, Dimitar Crcoroski, Angela Naumoska, Ilija Volčeski, Katerina Čakmakoska Klinčeska, Mihajlo Milenkoski, Nataša Naumoska and Zoran Ivanoski.

The play elicited great applause in honor of the recently departed Macedonian playwright.

Figurae veneris historiae was Stefanovski last theater play. It premiered in 2014 in Slovenia.

Vojdan Chernodrinski Theater has staged productions of Stefanovski’s Hi-FiJane Zadrogaz, and Proud Flesh, as well.
