Governor Bogov: The banking sector is stable

Macedonia’s National Bank (NBRM) is working on new projections of the economic growth for 2018-19, which is to be published on 3 May, NBRM Governor Dimitar Bogov told reporters on Thursday.

The export rate is rather high due to the activities of production plants located in the free economic zones, which most probably will contribute substantially to this year economic growth, Bogov said.

The foreign exchange, inflation rates are rather satisfactory enabling NBRM to design the monetary policy to better support the economic policies, Bogov said.

The political instability is a regular phenomenon in Macedonia and the country’s possible accession to NATO could reduce that risk, thus creating better, more reliable conditions for the business sector, Bogov said.
