Greek PM Tsipras: Last steps always most difficult

Athens and Skopje have taken significant steps forward but still have important steps to take before reaching a solution, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras tweeted late Wednesday in regard to name negotiations.

‘At today’s summit of the Party of European Socialists (PES) in Sofia, Socialist leaders welcomed our efforts to find a common solution to name issue. They pointed out that only progressive leaders can achieve this. I thanked them and admitted that we have taken significant steps forward indeed but still have important steps to take before we can actually reach a solution. The last steps are always the most difficult ones,’ Tsipras tweeted.

Tsipras’ tweets are accompanied by two photos – one depicting him alongside PES President Sergei Stanishev and Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and the other featuring Greece’s PM with Socialist leaders, MIA’s Athens correspondent reported.
