Gruevski and Zaev meet with President Ivanov


At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov, the President of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, Zoran Zaev and the leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski, held a meeting late Tuesday in the President’s Cabinet, the Cabinet has informed.

According to the Cabinet’s statement, talks were focused on the current developments.

“The meeting discussed possible solutions to the current state of tension in the country that is causing concern among the citizens. The purpose of the meeting was to encourage reconciliation and normalization of the political processes in the Republic of Macedonia. The participants at the meeting agreed to continue the talks in the future, reads the Cabinet’s statement.

The meeting took place after 36 people were yesterday arrested for their involvement in the events of 27 April 2017 in Parliament. They are charged with terrorist enlargement of the constitutional order and security of the country.
