Gruevski: We are ready to back everything in Parliament that will benefit Macedonia and its citizens (video)

Nikola Gruevski, leader of VMRO-DPMNE, held talks Wednesday in Brussels with the EP Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) chairman, David McAllister and European Council President Donald Tusk.

The former Macedonian prime minister says he told McAllister and Tusk that Macedonia should start the EU accession talks, not to speak about some kind of defrosting of recommendations and the like.

“I pointed out it was time to find a way to help Macedonia start the accession negotiations. Not to talk about defrosting recommendations and the like, but to start the negotiations, open chapters and complete those negotiations, which will end with Macedonia’s membership in the European Union. From that aspect, I pointed out that we, as VMRO-DPMNE, are ready to back everything in the Macedonian Parliament that we will assess that will benefit the citizens and the state. It is normal that as an opposition we will criticize what will come, and what we may think will not be good and well thought,” Gruevski said after the meetings in Brussels.
