Gruevski: Zaev is taking revenge on me for the 11 years of defeat

New hearing in Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) case dubbed “Violence in Centar” has been adjourned Wednesday in the Skopje-based Criminal Court because in accordance with the new annual schedule for judges which will enter into force as next year, one of the five judges from the trial council will not work in this court. The former VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski appeared in time at today’s hearing in court, who is among the 12 other defendants in this case.

“Nothing new to add in regard to the cases, which the government along with SPO is pushing them. This is an unprincipled witch-hunt and political retaliation. They invented accusations without evidence. Then the illegally acquired materials became evidence. The last act was to change the judges. Unlike these trials, you saw what happened with Zaev’s trial where the judge apologized. Zaev is taking revenge on me for the 11 years of defeat,” Gruevski told the court.

The new hearing is scheduled to February 2, 2018 at 10 am.
