Ivanov opens Simulation Centre in Training and Doctrine Command in Veles

President Gjorge Ivanov accompanied by Chief of General Staff of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia, Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski and US Ambassador Jess Baily opened Tuesday the new Simulation Centre in Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) in “Alekso Demnievski-Bauman” barracks in Veles.

Simulation Centre is US donation worth US$ 1.4 million, which according to Baily is necessary to prepare officers not only for regular exercises, but also to provide realistic mission training.

Bailey informed that meeting of NATO foreign ministers are scheduled for this week, which represents great week for European security.

“This represents strengthening not only of the security of Macedonia, but also the security of its partners and allies, including the United States,” Baily said.

He explained that the simulators help in dealing with the new challenges which as he said are already present in the region, within and outside of Europe.

Velichkovski said that the center’s main advantage is to raise commands and headquarters to a higher level as well as the additional possibility of the Simulation Center to connect to the network of all centers located in the region.

President Ivanov visited the TRADOC accommodation facilities and the soldiers serving voluntary military service.
