Macedonian actor Salaetin Bilal dies aged 76

The Macedonian actor of Turkish descent, Salaetin Bilal has died, aged 76, after long illness, it was reported Friday.

Bilal was a regular fixture of the Turkish Theater in Skopje as part of its ensemble since his employment in 1964 and up until his retirement in 2007.

Throughout his prolific career, he starred in theater plays, movies and TV series and films.

Bilal also dipped his toes into directing, translating plays and even managing.

He is most famous to audiences for his myriad of film roles, most notably for starring in three Milco Mancevski-directed movies, namely Dust, Shadows and Mothers.

Salaetin Bilal won also many awards, including a lifetime achievement award in 2014.
