Macedonian Chief of General Staff Velickovski pays visit to Slovakia

Ways for Macedonia and Slovakia to intensify military cooperation by partaking in military exercises and training courses was the focal point of Wednesday’s meetings of Chief of Macedonian Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Metodija Velickovski, with his Slovak counterpart, General Milan Maxim, and Defense Minister Peter Gajdos.

Lieutenant General Velickovski, who is leading an army delegation, pays an official visit to Bratislava.

He was welcomed with highest military honors at the General Staff of Slovakia’s Army. At the meeting, Velickovski was informed about the experiences of the Slovak army in the process of integrating into NATO, MoD said in a press release.

The Macedonian delegation was also informed about the participation of Slovakia’s military forces in UN-, NATO- and EU-led peace missions. The guests also shared lessons learned of Macedonian troops during their engagement throughout the migrant crisis, stated the press release.
