Macedonian Eurovision candidate announces she’s pregnant, gets engaged, fails to qualify for the finals

Jana Burceska, the Macedonian representative at this year’s Eurovision song contest in Ukraine failed to qualify to the final round. Still, not all was lost, as Burceska announced that she is pregnant, only to have her boyfriend and guitarist Aleksandar Filipovski propose to her during the event.

Burceska performed Dance Alone and did not receive enough votes to go ahead. Bulgaria, Belarus, Croatia, Hungary, Denmark, Israel, Romania, Norway, the Netherlands and Austria qualified from the second semi-final evening. In the finals, they will compete with Moldova, Azerbaijan, Greece, Sweden, Portugal, Poland, Armenia, Australia, Cyprus and Belgium.
