Macedonian literature featured in Polish journal Wyspa

Macedonian literature is featured in the latest issue of the Polish literary quarterly Wyspa.

The journal features an overview of Macedonian literature by Prof. Dr. Lilla Moroz-Grzelak of the Polish Academy of Sciences along with Polish translations of poems by Jovica Tasevski-Eternijan, Lidija Dimkovska, and Vladimir Ilievski. Also published is the speech that acting Ambassador of Macedonia to Poland Gorica Atanasovska-Gjorevska gave at the International Book Fair in Warsaw to promote Macedonian poetry and fiction.

In addition to poems by Eternijan, Dimkovska, and Ilievski, the issue introduces poetry by Nobel-prize winning Irish poet Seamus Heaney, who was Poet Laureate of the 2001 Struga Poetry Evenings festival; by Anise Koltz, one of Luxembourg’s major contemporary poets; by the renowned Danish author Inger Christensen, as well as poems by other well-established European poets.

Wyspa is published four times a year, and its editor-in-chief is Piotr Dobrołęcki.
