The Macedonian Alliance for European Integration (MAEI) – a political party of Macedonian nationals living in Albania – called Wednesday on Macedonia’s authorities to release Pustec Mayor Edmond Temelko from prison considering his poor health.

Keeping Temelko under detention considering his serious health condition is an offence for all Macedonian nationals in Albania, MAEI says in its letter to Macedonia’s authorities.

Temelko has been in detention since 26 September. The Special Prosecution Office (SPO) brought criminal charges against him for electoral fraud during the 2013 municipal poll in Macedonia.
