Mickoski to Kukan and Fleckenstein: Name agreement is unacceptable

VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski met Thursday with MEPs Eduard Kukan and Knut Fleckenstein and reiterated his position that his party cannot accept the Agreement with Greece because, he said, it is against Macedonian national and state interests, and in the future opens up the opportunity to be used as a legal mechanism for blocking the Macedonian Euro-Atlantic integrations.

According to VMRO-DPMNE, during the talks, it was a common constatation that the Euro-Atlantic integration of Macedonia into the EU and NATO is crucial for the development of the country, the citizens’ standard of living, as well as for the reform processes in the judiciary, health and education.

The meeting also focused on the current political situation in the country, and Kukan and Fleckenstein were told that the current government has had unsatisfactory progress in the reform processes required for EU membership.
