Misajlovski to Stip Mayor who bragged about paving a single kilometer of road in a year: You can’t be serious

Former Transportation Minister Vlado Misajlovski was not amused by the annual report put forward by the city of Stip for the work accomplished in the first year of Mayor Blagoj Bocvarski’s term. A much ridiculed section of the report bragged about how the city built a single kilometer of local roads in the first year.

Probably to make the disappointing number seem bigger, the report listed it as: “In one year – 1.000 meters of completed local roads”, and added additional 1.400 meters in dirt roads.

– You can’t be serious, the former minister wrote on his social media accounts. “Is this your report card? It’s a wonder you didn’t list printing this report as an accomplishment”, Misajlovski added. In his term, he and his predecessor Janakieski worked on three major highways simultaneously, on top of numerous local infrastructure projects. Capital investment – the budget earmark used for infrastructure – dropped dramatically under the SDSM Government, with money being provided for in the budget but not being spent, largely due to inability to move the projects forward.

The Zaev Government needed a full year to complete the Demir Kapija – Smokvica highway which was largely finished at the time they took over from VMRO-DPMNE and negotiated with the Chinese company building the Kicevo – Ohrid highway for a year only to sign an amended contract for the same highway route, but at a much higher price.
