New Spanish, Czech, Kuwaiti Ambassadors to Macedonia present their credentials to President Ivanov

The new Spanish, Czech, Kuwaiti Ambassadors to Macedonia handed over their credentials to President Gjorge Ivanov.

At the meeting with Ambassador Emilio Lorenzo Serra, Ivanov commended the development of the Macedonian-Spanish relations and thanked official Madrid for its support of Macedonia’s bid to join the Euro-Atlantic institutions, the President’s Office said in a press release.

He also voiced concern about the recent developments in Spain, expressing belief that the country would surpass the political turmoil and come out of it as more powerful and united state.

Ivanov also referred to the refugee crisis, saying that radicalism and growing number of terrorist attacks, as the recent ones in Barcelona and Cambrils, require closer cooperation of the democratic world in the sphere of security.

At the meeting with Miroslav Toman, the President commended the excellent relations between Macedonia and the Czech Republic.

‘The Czech Republic is one of Macedonia’s best friends, partners and supporters of the efforts to turn our strategic goals into reality,’ Ivanov said. He also extended gratitude for the Czech support of Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations, as well as the assistance in dealing with the consequences of the refugee/migrant crisis.

Speaking to Sofia-based Kuwaiti Ambassador Yaqoub Alateeqi, President Ivanov expressed readiness for advancing the political, especially the economic cooperation between the two countries.
