Nine out of ten companies purchased more than 25 million kilograms of tobacco at the average price amounting to MKD 196.82 per kilogram for 2016 harvest up to March 15. In accordance with the Law on Tobacco, the payment is realised 98 percent i.e. MKD 4.873 billion were paid so far, Director of the State Inspectorate for Agriculture Cvetan Tripunovski informed Thursday.
Tripunovski said that during the entire process of tobacco purchase no problems were identified besides Strumica tabak company which did not meet the purchase conditions and all the amount of the company was taken over by other companies in agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management.
The deadline for purchase of tobacco was 15 March 2017.
