Twelve new books from various fields like medicine, economics, law and natural sciences were launched Wednesday at the 50th jubilee promotion as part of the project for translation of 1.000 textbooks used at world’s leading companies.

So far, 845 books have been translated, and 155 are left to be translated until the end of the project.

“The milestone-50th book promotion–speaks volumes about the capital of knowledge and literature that has entered into the Macedonian society since 2009 when the project was launched,” Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said at the promotion.

He added that students, scholars, professors and researchers and all those willing to know more,  now are offered top works from contemporary science with the translation of these books.

Minister of Education and Science Spiro Ristovski announced expansion and upgrade of the project by opening reading rooms in other cities across Macedonia or by commissioning translations of new books.

-A room without books is like a body without a soul. We opened this room, which abounds with contemporary literature and enabling the citizens to read, get information, exchange opinions on the books they have read.  One cannot open a book without  learning something new. Every opening of these covers, takes you to the world of contemporary knowledge which, my dear students, also share your colleagues from Cambridge, Yale, Oxford, Sorbona…, said Ristovski.
