Pustec Mayor Temelko placed under house arrest

Pustec Mayor Edmond Temelko has been released from detention and placed under house arrest following a positive opinion of the Special Prosecution Office (SPO), the Criminal Court told MIA on Sunday.

Few days ago, the Macedonian Alliance for European Integration (MAEI) – a political party of Macedonian nationals living in Albania – called on Macedonia’s authorities to release Temelko from prison considering his poor health.

Temelko has been in detention since 26 September. SPO brought criminal charges against him for electoral fraud during the 2013 municipal poll in Macedonia.
