Retirement age limit will not rise

Minister of Labour and Social Policy Mila Carovska said Friday that retirement age limit will not rise and the pensions are stable and safe.

Carovska at Friday’s press conference in the government informed about work done in the past 11 months. A total of 4.535 redundant workers received compensations, 90.000 citizens got higher salaries, funds for 138 new employments in centres for social work were provided, 486 persons were employed in kindergartens, three new regional lodgings for homeless were opened and thirty centres for social work were reconstructed.

In addition to capital and child protection projects, new laws on social protection and labour relations are being drafted, a new European non-discrimination law is being worked out. MKD 1 billion are foreseen with the operational plan for employment that allows social enterprises and civil society organisations to apply.

Carovska said that they began the construction of modern centre for autism in Skopje, two new daycare centers for persons with intellectual disabilities in Kumanovo, daycare centre for Down Syndrome in Skopje and daycare center for Cerebral Palsy in Prilep.
