Risteski: First plant for secondary waste separation in Macedonia will be built in Prilep

As you can see, soon Prilep will get the first plant for secondary waste separation in Macedonia. The plant is being built near the Alinci landfill, said Marjan Risteski, VMRO-DPMNEcandidate for mayor of Prilep.

“With this investment, we are heading towards the final solution of the waste problem, which has so far failed to be resolve by many more advanced countries than us. Previously, in 2013, the line for secondary waste selection was procured. The total investment in the part of the construction and the machinery part for this factory will amount to about MKD 60 million, funds provided by JKP “Komunalec” and the Municipality of Prilep. In the first phase in this factory, it is planned to employ 100 people with the possibility of expanding the complex to 200 jobs. From this month we will start with the realization of the project – composting apparatus, worth 10 million denars. The composting apparatus will be built with irreversible funds from the European funds from the Cross-Border Cooperation Program. The realization of this project should finish in October 2019, and the organic waste will be processed in the composting device and compost will be produced, says Risteski.

He added that they will also invest in a crusher for construction rubble, and the processing would be used for compaction of local roads.
