Skopje gets daily center for autistic children

A refurbished center for children with autism is opened Tuesday in Skopje settlement ‘Topansko Pole’ in the presence of Minister of Labor and Social policy Mila Carovska.

The daily center will take care for 90 children, offering individual services of special teachers, speech therapists and social workers.

The center’s renovation is a result of cooperation between the inter-municipal Center for Social Work of the City of Skopje, Citizens Association ‘Imago Plus’ and the Institute for Rehabilitation of Children and Youth. The KB First Pension Company and Digit Express MM donated didactic materials and toys.

The cooperation between the civil sector and public institutions in Macedonia in providing social protection services is gaining momentum. In the future this kind of cooperation will be further encouraged in order to provide better services for the citizens, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy said in a press release.
