Skopje hosts international conference on solid waste management


International conference on the topic “Macedonia Networking in the World’s Solid Waste Management Trends” takes place Nov. 23 and 24 in Skopje organised by the Macedonian Solid Waste Association (MSWA).

The conference is in conjunction with the ongoing EU-funded Twinning Project on Waste Management (MK 12 IB EN 02).

The event which will bring together International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) representatives, international experts, Macedonian central and municipal administration representatives, and companies/entities and will focus on establishing the network for the Macedonian stakeholders in the world`s solid waste flows.

The main subjects of the conference will be: How to reach the available EU funds; Public Private Partnership- commercial presentations and Specific waste streams and Extended Producer Responsibility.

Minister of Environment and Psychical Planning Sadula Duraku and Head of Cooperation Sector in the EU Delegation Nicola Bertolini will deliver addresses.

The conference is supported by the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning and the EU Delegation to Macedonia.
