Summit100: Memorandum on business cooperation and promotion of competitiveness in Western Balkans signed


Regional platform Summit100 and the Western Balkans Chambers Investment Forum (WB6 CIF) sign Tuesday memorandum of cooperation thus committing themselves to unite private sector forces and regional companies to jointly work on implementation of agreed projects from the Berlin Initiative.

Memorandum was signed by the Zhivko Mukaetov, Alkaloid and Summit100 President of the Board and Marko Chadez, President of Serbian Chamber of Commerce within 6th Summit100 Business Leaders of SEE which opened on Monday in Skopje.

WBCIF serves as platform for regional cooperation of the chambers of Macedonia, Serbia, Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro and was inaugurated in the margin of the WB6 Summit in Trieste.

This year, the regional cooperation of the Summit100 was formalised by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation on our platform with the Western Balkans Chambers Investment Forum. The memorandum refers to encouraging business cooperation and enhancing the competitiveness of regional and national economies, Mukaetov said.

Chadez referred to topics discussed at the summit and the need to deepen the connectivity in the region through cooperation as faster trade in goods and services, transport, energy and branding of origin.

We want to help in accomplishing of these tasks by contributing in lifting customs barriers, document synchronization but also synorchinsation of other procedures. Our objective is to keep this topic high on the agenda and I consider that such opportunity exists now and we must not miss it. It is an issue of the survival of our region, Chadez underlined.
