10 new titles under the project for translation of vocational and textbooks used at the top 10 world universities have been promoted Monday at the “1000 Books” reading room, whereby the total number of translated and printed books has reached 977. The project for translation of 1,000 books will be upgraded with additional 200 books.

The promotion on Monday featured titles from the fields of economy, agriculture, medicine, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, architecture and construction.

Deputy Education Minister Spiro Ristovski said that the goal of this project is to make available quality textbooks in Macedonian language.

“Each book we promote within the project  has been carefully chosen and recommended by top professors, and thus, these books can be directly used by students and researchers, because they are based on the selection of the universities. The names of the authors feature eminent professors of leading universities who have received high recognition for their exceptional contribution to science and education,” Ristovski said.

The promotion, which is the 61st since the beginning of the project in 2009  was also attended by VMRO-DPMNE president Nikola Gruevski. He noted that the project is almost completed and has been very successful and useful for students, professors, and researchers.

“I am glad the project has nearly completed its first stage, which consists of 1,000 books. Further on it will be supplemented with some 200 books of different fields. This is an extraordinary opportunity for all those who want to gain knowledge from top authors and experts in their field, who are the best or among the best in the world. These books give great advantage to students, but also professors, assistant professors, and researchers, the undergraduate, as well as postgraduate and PhD studies,” Gruevski said.
