The Ombudsman: Phone lines on reporting election right breaches


All seven offices of the Ombudsman in Skopje, Bitola, Kicevo, Kumanovo, Strumica, Tetovo and Stip will be open on Election Day on Sunday (Oct. 15) from 7am to 7pm in order to help the citizens to exercise and protect their voting right.

Citizens will also have the opportunity to report any violation of voting right on the phone numbers 02 3129-327 and 3129-367 in Skopje Office, 047 242-310 in Bitola, 045 228-586 in Kicevo, 031 431-488 in Kumanovo, 034 329-996 in Strumica, 044 334-082 in Tetovo and 032 389-701 in Stip

The Ombudsman Ixhet Memeti in Friday’s press release underlined the importance on respect of right to free expression of the will of the electors as one of the fundamental human rights, which contributes to the creation of democratic and functional institutions for healthy democratic society.

In this direction, the Ombudsman appeals to all, especially to the competent institutions within their competences to contribute to conduct of elections in which the voting will take place freely and smoothly, in accordance with the law and human rights will be fully respected.
