The police, in cooperation with SDSM-controlled media, mocks Mitko Chavkov (photo)

Former interior minister and head of the Public Security Bureau, Mitko Chavkov, who is in detention under a court order in connection to the events of 27 April 2017 in Macedonia’s Parliament, has gone on hunger strike at the Skopje prison.

The news portal controlled by the Government, a1on.mk, has published an illegal photo taken most probably from the guard room, showing Chavkov using the right to a daily walk within the detention unit of the Sutka prison. The photo was also shared by pro-government Plusinfo.

What is scandalous is that the photo was taken in the guard room, which only prison officers have access to. In other words, the privacy right of the former official has been violated by a police officer, an employee of the Ministry of Interior, which should guarantee the security and privacy of the detainee, and know that taking photos in prison is not allowed.
