Top officials extend Easter greetings


President Gjorge Ivanov sent a congratulation note to all Christian believers in Macedonia on the occasion of Easter – the Resurrection of the Christ, wishing them good health, prosperity and spiritual peace.

In the days when we celebrate the victory over death we remember the Christ’s resurrection which is the foundation of salvation. With this act the Savior granted us free love, delivering us from death and granting us life. I therefore urge you to ask for understanding, unity and brotherly love among our Christian people. Let us recall the Gospel that teaches us on the virtue of patience and suffering of the supreme and constant love that conquered death and triumphed over evil, Ivanov said in the note.

In Easter greetings Ivanov wished mutual respect, understanding and love in the hearts to all Christian believers.

Prime Minister Emil Dimitriev also extended his greetings on Easter to the Christian believers, the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric, the Roman Catholic Church and the Evangelical Methodist Church.

Easter is one of the most important symbols of our faith, a symbol of resurrection, a symbol of victory over death, the victory of good over evil and the triumph of good human behavior.

In these festive days let us celebrate the resurrection of Christ together and pray for God to be with us in the future. Let us pray for health and happiness in our homes, love and prosperity in our families, peace and tranquility in our country, Dimitriev said in the greetings.
