UNICEF caravan for childhood without barriers

Starting Wednesday in the course of next month and in partnership with Skopje Film Festival, UNICEF is organising a mini film festival named “Caravan for Childhood without Barriers” in six municipalities across the country to promote the rights and abilities of children with disabilities.

The “Caravan for Childhood without Barriers” will be welcomed by about 400 children and teachers, parents and local government representatives in Sveti Nikole, UNICEF press release reads.

They will have the opportunity to see six international renowned animated films on topics related to child disability, diversity and inclusion. Keynote addresses will be given by the Mayor of Sveti Nikole, Sasho Velkovski and UNICEF Representative, Benjamin Perks.

During the event, children and youth with disabilities from Sveti Nikole will talk about their hopes and plans, challenges they’ve experienced, as well as the need for change in the society’s attitude towards disability.

This is part of the new phase of the campaign “Be Fair. For a Childhood without Barriers” putting emphasis on the need to unleash the potential in every child.

On November 23, the caravan will be present in Kavadarci, on 28 November in Bitola, on December 11 in Shtip, on December 12 in Kichevo and on December 14, it will be present in Gostivar.
