US Deputy Assistant Secretary Palmer visits Macedonia

United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs Matthew Palmer pays Monday a visit to Macedonia where he is scheduled to meet with PM Zoran Zaev, FM Nikola Dimitrov and officials of political parties.

Palmer-Dimitrov meeting will focus on Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic perspective as well as the current political developments in the country and the region, Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.

“Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs Matthew Palmer will travel to Macedonia on October 22 to discuss U.S. support for the Prespa Agreement between Macedonia and Greece and the importance of moving forward with Macedonia’s reform agenda. He will meet with government and political party officials, including Prime Minister Zaev and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dimitrov,” U.S. Embassy to Skopje said last week in a press release.

This is Palmer’s second visit to Macedonia this year. He visited the country on August and met Macedonian top officials.
