VMRO-DPMNE announced that Koce Trajanovski will run for another term as Mayor of Skopje

VMRO-DPMNE Secretary General Hristijan Mickoski announced some of the main candidates which the conservative party will nominate at the coming municipal elections. Koce Trajanovski, the incumbent Mayor of Skopje, will run for another, third term, as the VMRO-DPMNE candidate, said Mickoski.

“The current and most successful Mayor of Skopje, Koce Trajanovski, has successes which are visible across the city. Due to the dedicated work of Trajanovski and his team, we had expanded boulevards and streets, new green spaces, parks and bicycle paths. Skopje got two new garages and added numerous parking spaces. Trajanovski built or reconstructed 81.793 meters of water lines and rebuilt schools and kindergartens. Skopje is now a real metropolis, on the map of the global tourist destinations with tens of thousands of tourists visiting annually”, said Mickoski.

Mickoski confirmed that the incumbent mayors of Gazi Baba and Rosoman, Toni Trajkovski and Stojance Lazov, will also run for a new term, and Dragan Klopceski will represent the party in Debar.

“The citizens can see our work and give us their support. These elections are not only municipal elections, but a vote to punish the dangerous politics of the Social-Democratic Alliance (SDSM) which we saw in the past 100 days and which is taking our country down a wrong and dangerous path. Due to the disastrous policies of SDS, the average wage is dropping, costs of living re rising and the industrial production is going down while the businesses of messrs. Zaev and Angjusev are growing. The citizens will stop this disaster and the municipal elections will herald the fall of the SDS Government and open way for speedy, early general elections”, Mickoski said.

SDSM responded with a press release accusing Trajanovski and Trajkovski of being supporters of VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski and of not caring for the citizens but only for their corrupt interests. SDSM blamed Trajkovski of ordering the demolition of the Kosmos residential complex built by politician and businessman Fijat Canoski, and accused Trajanovski of causing air pollution in Skopje and spending money on luxury projects.
