VMRO-DPMNE urges the Government to respect the Rules of Procedure

The main opposition party VMRO-DPMNE urges the Government to respect the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament and warns that the laws adopted in an illegal manner are precedents that can become a rule in the future. VMRO-DPMNE believes that the law on languages should be withdrawn and discussed, assessing it as unconstitutional, inapplicable and with a long-term risk of cohesion in Macedonia.

“Not respecting parliamentary procedures and possible avoidance of an amendment debate is detrimental to the Republic of Macedonia. The SDSM government only declaratively cares about democracy, while in practice it works contrary to the principle of totalitarian regimes. SDSM promised a state of law, and now it is carrying out a strong blow to the law in the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia. The chaos caused by the SDSM in the legislature will cause serious damage to democracy, but not respecting the rules of procedure and laws will cause repercussions towards those who will violate them,” reads VMRO-DPMNE’s statement.

The party adds that the patriots who opposed the undemocratic processes in the Parliament were unjustly detained and thus a strong blow to democracy in our country was carried out.

“Political persecution must stop. Lawlessness became the rule for acting of the SDSM-led government. The only way for the return of democracy in the Republic of Macedonia is for courts and institutions to get rid of the clutches of the government and to work according to law. This means also the release of the patriots who are defendants in a politically-mounted process,” opposition VMRO-DPMNE says.

According to the party, the courts must abolish all unlawful decisions passed out of the prescribed procedures, and the commissioners and the perpetrators should adequately be held accountable.
