I have told PM Zoran Zaev, who has thanked us for assistance in procuring COVID-19 vaccines, that we’re always ready to help our closest neighbours and friends, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday morning.

The situation is really difficult and we should support each other and stand in solidarity. Every life is important and we will make every effort to preserve it, Borisov said.

The message from Borisov follows the gratitude that Zoran Zaev expressed to the Bulgarian Prime Minister, for giving a portion of the Bulgarian share of coronavirus vaccines to Macedonia.

I personally expressed my gratitude to Prime Minister Borisov, the Bulgarian Government and the Bulgarian people for this gesture of solidarity and humanity, and an exceptional gesture of friendship toward the Macedonian people and all the citizens of Macedonia, Zaev said in a statement.
