Government orders seizure of land along the Skopje aqueduct in order to protect it

The Government plans to begin expropriating property along the Skopje aqueduct. Built around the 5th century AD to supply the then city core of Skupi with water, the aqueduct has recently become the target of people presumably going after construction material.

According to the Government, it has ordered the Cultural heritage management bureau to place guards along the aqueduct, and to initiate expropriation of the land around it.
