The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark also denied the reports of the Bulgarian “24 Casa” that Denmark, as well as the Netherlands, joined Bulgaria in blocking Macedonia’s EU accession talks, the “Sakamdakazam” news portal reported.

Information published in the Bulgarian media indicating that Denmark has joined Bulgaria’s veto on Macedonia’s EU accession talks is incorrect. Denmark supports the current proposals of the European Commission regarding the negotiating framework with Albania and Macedonia and has stated this very clearly at all forums on the negotiations. Denmark is ready to accept this negotiating framework. Denmark additionally supports the European perspective of all Western Balkan countries. In this regard, Denmark supports the start of accession negotiations with Albania and Macedonia, after the conditions set by the General Affairs Council in March 2020 are met, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark told “Sakamdakazam”.

Earlier today, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Skopje also denied the reports of the Bulgarian “24 casa”.
