Polish tour operators have canceled their holiday arrangements in Macedonia, and Dutch tourists have postponed their arrival in the country for a month, informs the president of the Association of Hotel and Catering Businesses HOTAM, Krste Blazeski. He says that compared to the years before the pandemic, the visits of foreign guests in the Ohrid-Struga region have decreased by at least 50 percent.

Blazeski expects another difficult year for Macedonian tourism.

We will not have so many foreign guests just because of the situation in Ukraine. We already have a reduction in the number of tourists from Poland, and the guests from the Netherlands, who were supposed to start the arrangements on May 1, postponed them for June. For other foreign guests and round tours, there may be one tour from Turkey, but it will generally be a difficult year, says Blazeski in an interview with NovaTV.

According to him, the number of domestic and regional tourists will decrease due to the economic crisis, rising prices and inflation.
