After a five-day debate, the Parliament adopted Thursday the Budget for next year with 63 votes “for”, 36 “against” and not a single “abstention”.

The budget is projected at 4.4 billion denars. Total revenues are planned at the level of 238.9 billion denars or 30.9 percent of GDP, and expenditures are projected at the level of 272.4 billion denars, which is 1.4 percent more than this year. The deficit is planned at the level of 33.5 billion denars or 4.3 percent of GDP and is lower by 2.2 percentage points compared to the estimated deficit in 2021. 37.8 billion denars is envisaged for capital investments for next year, which is 27 percent more compared to 2021.

The so-called “Golden rule in finance” has been observed, ie the budget deficit is lower than capital expenditures.
