The bus ticket to Kumanovo is 30 denars more expensive in one direction and from today it costs 150 denars. If calculated in percentages, it turns out that the increase for this 40-kilometer route is as much as 25%. Until last spring, the ticket was 100 denars, but then it jumped to 120 and now it has risen to 150 denars per ticket, writes Telma.

The prices in the intercity bus transport as of today have a new price, so the ticket to Veles is more expensive by 30 denars, and the most attractive tour to the tourist belt along Lake Ohrid jumped over 11 euros. That is, as of today Skopje-Ohrid bus tickets starts at 680 denars. The return ticket to Ohrid is a cheaper option and it costs 930 denars.

The bus ticket to Gevgelija costs 520 denars or the return ticket is 770 denars. One-way ticket to Bitola cost 510 denars, the price of the return ticket stands at 750 denars, while for Prilep it costs 420 denars (return ticket – 590 denars).

The reasons for the new more expensive prices are the increase in costs, above all the higher price of fuel for buses and spare bus parts. The prices were also affected by the decision to declare Sunday a non-working day and the fact that the hired drivers and counter clerks from January will receive payment for working in the legally prescribed free day.

The citizens are surprised by the rise in prices. Bus carriers have previously sought help from the state over the crisis, either by reducing fuel excise duties or by reducing tolls on intercity buses.
