The ruling majority in Parliament rejected the amendment VMRO-DPMNE proposed to the minimum wage law.

The minimum wage is set to be increased to 18,000 denars (300 EUR) a month. VMRO proposed that other wages in the public administration and the retirement incomes are increased in a similar proportion. But the SDSM – DUI led majority refused this proposal. VMRO representatives said that teachers were earning, on average, 60 percent over the minimum wage, and now they are down to just 30 percent.
