The results from the first round of the local elections, extrapolated on a general election map, would further undercut the SDSM seats in Parliament and would leave VMRO-DPMNE on top.

According to the number of votes won in the council races, if these were general elections VMRO-DPMNE would’ve won 45 seats in Parliament, while SDSM would have 38 – 7 less than what it holds now.

The Parliament would have 18 seats for DUI, 7 for the Alliance of Albanians and the Alternative party and three seats from BESA. The Levica party would’ve won six seats, tripling its current number.

Of the smaller parties that competed in the local elections, the LDP/DOM coalition, the Democratic Party of Turks and the Kumanovo list of Mayor Maksim Dimitrievski would’ve won one seat each.
