The Acibadem Sistina clinic announced it will treat all children under 18 who suffer from Covid-19 for free. The premiere private clinic in Macedonia also said that it will cover the cost of treatment for a patient who was desperately seeking funds over social media.

Treatment in Sistina, which is considered far superior to that in the public healthcare system, often costs over 10,000 EUR, and over the course of the epidemic there were several well publicized cases where families of patients sought donations to transfer them away from public clinics. One of the key reasons that the Government introduced a state of crisis was that the Healthcare Ministry will have greater say over how private clinics treat patients, and Sistina, along with two other clinics, are refurbishing an old hospital planning to put it under management of the public system.

Meanwhile, doctor Dusko Fidanovski from the clinic informed that they have already treated seven children who, likely after having been exposed to the coronavirus, suffered from inflammation on multiple organs, including, in some cases the heart.
