DUI leader Ali Ahmeti said yesterday that the Law on the Use of Languages was sent to the Venice Commission for an opinion only to reduce the then current tensions that arose among Macedonians.

According to the leader of the government’s coalition partner, the legal solution was then agreed and no one had problems with it, ie there was no need to evaluate it.

At the time when the language law was discussed, our international friends gave us the opinion that it is good to send the law to the Venice Commission in order to reduce the tensions and prejudices among Macedonians, Ahmeti said yesterday.
