The presidential candidate Blerim Reka, backed by the Alliance for Albanians and Besa called for a massive turnout on Sunday’s elections, May 5. He urged the citizens to get out and vote, as he says, to preserve the Euro-Atlantic process of the country.

Respecting your votes, I will repeat once again: they are just your votes. It is your sacred right and it is up to you to decide who you will vote for in the second round. I will repeat the same thing I said at the beginning of my presidential campaign: I am not a trader of your votes and I will not persuade you for whom to vote this Sunday. Trading with your votes is contrary to my concept of the Republic, especially with its main pillar – the rule of law. Why then do you need elections, if party leaders decide for your votes in the second round as ordinary traders with the votes of the people?

For my part, I would ask you to go out on May 5 to vote en masse to save the Euro-Atlantic process, says Reka.
