Blerim Reka, presidential candidate and former ambassador to the EU, does not expect the country to get a date for opening EU accession talks in October. He told TV21 that after the “Racket” scandal, member states would be far more skeptical to give a positive opinion at the Council of Ministers’ summit in Brussels.

I think this scandal can only aggravate the stance, and there are, three EU member states that are hesitant to give a positive opinion in October. In mid-June, when the date for opening talks was rejected, three months had passed, the Racket scandal was revealed. According to talks with foreign diplomats, there is no hope that this can be positively noted, Reka says.
